Guest Post: HEALTHY MEALS AND EXERCISE VS.CRASH DIETS-THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

BY: Michelle Hannan

I remember when people use to be so relaxed about their health like they did not want to worry at all but they use to live better than us because of the quality of the food back then. Now, we do not have the luxury of being stress-free before putting something in our mouth because of the deprived food quality.

But one change that I witness now is, people are more conscious about their health than once were, due to so much awareness, now we know that obesity is our worst enemy and only we could fight it. But there are different ways in which you would fight this enemy of yours, and like every other thing, this also has two ways, some good, and some better ways.

We all have an idea of where I am leading you here. Healthy eating is a way that will lead you to get in shape and be that way for the long run and exercising helps you with that cause. Healthy eating is not just good for weight loss, but it also helps you in living a better and happy life. Following are the pros of a healthy diet and exercising.

  1. Reduces risks of diseases.
  2. Promotes health.
  3. Makes you look younger.
  4. Improves your memory.
  5. Increases your energy level.
  6. Improves mental health.
  7. Improves sleep.

We can sure agree on the benefits of healthy eating and exercising, but we cannot neglect the grey areas of this lifestyle too.

  1. You can get injured.
  2. Exercising increases appetite.
  3. Healthy eating is not something you just do; a balance is always something difficult to find.
  4. Healthy eating may cost you more than usual.

  • CRASH DIET

Crash dieting is one way of losing weight, and it is okay for those who have a deadline for shredding fat. But depriving yourself of food and going hard on yourself never work in the long run and has so many disadvantages to it and they are listed below.

  1. You always feel hungry
  2. You constantly feel tired, week and sleepy.
  3. It makes you lack in nutrients and slows down your metabolic rate.
  4. It is hard to follow.
  5. Crash diet leads to starving and starving leads to craving junk food which ultimately leads to weight gain.
  6. Issues like ketosis, serum uric acid and gallstone can occur.
  7. Crash diet makes you lose lean body mass instead of fat from your body.

While this diet has disadvantages, it also has something good to serve, and those things are mentioned below.

  1. Gives immediate results.
  2. It is affordable.
  3. As these diets are for a short time, you do not need to stick to it for long.

With the lists above I am leaving you people to decide to choose what. I hope you make a better decision that may help you in the longer run.
